TMJD (TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT DISORDERS)

Patients’, who have symptoms of clenching or grinding their teeth, have the condition known as bruxism. This para-functional habit may place undue pressure on the muscles and tissues of the mandible causing tooth, other jaw disorders, cephalagia and or otolagia. These symptoms are often collectively referred to as TMJ/TMD (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction).

The doctors at Brown Prosthodontists have been trained to treat temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD). Various treatment options exist and conservative philosophy, based on the most up to date research, is employed by the clinicians at Brown Prosthodontics. Some of the treatment possibilities include, pharmacologic means, occlusal devices, along with physical therapy and exercise.
